S.D.S. - Concept Phase 1 TrainerThe S.D.S.- concept instructor training program forms the base for establishing a qualified net of S.D.S.-concept trainers. The technical competence required to teach is built during weekend seminars. The phase 1 trainer- and instructor program qualifies the graduate to teach the S.D.S-concept in seminars, courses or regular individual training sessions. These seminars are ideal for martial artists who want to bolster their tool-assisted self defense training (with a Kubotan, Dulo Dulo, Yawara or similar) or who want to get to know different aspects of self defense. The S.D.S. (Self Defense Stick) is a small stick (see illustration) made of metal, plastic or wood, that is used in self defense training. It is 8-15 cm long and is mainly carried on a key ring or as a pocket stick. One of its advantages is its interchangeability with everyday objects like keys, lighters, pens, spoons, mobile phones, etc.) Sign Up Self defense toolsThere are many tools and objects that can be used in self defense. A set table for example is a veritable weapons arsenal (keys, cutlery, chairs, etc.) Of course there are more obvious devices like stun guns, pepper spray, mobile alarms, gas pistols etc. None of those things are a guarantee for protection and should not give a false sense of security. The correct use of a tool in self defense is vital for effective protection. Only if I know how to use the auxiliary device properly will I be able to protect myself without injuring myself. OriginMany S.D.S techniques have their origin in Krav Maga and Hashita (Israeli Self Defense), the Kubotan of Takayuki Kubota, the Dulo from Eskrima/Kali/Arnis and the Yawara Stick from Judo. However the S.D.S.- concept is a completely individual system. New tactics and training methods were developed especially for the S.D.S.-concept. S.D.S.-Concept use and applicationThe S.D.S.- concept is a combination of several different techniques into one system. It is used as a defense against armed and unarmed attackers or to execute trapping-, transporting- and nerve point pressure techniques. It is a flexible and dynamic but simple system, and is therefore ideal for everyone. The techniques are relatively easy to learn and can already be used effectively in self defense after a short period of training. Content of training, Phase 1 Instructor
